This was my first ever Print Only / 2D Art only event.

If you have been following my work on social media and on this site you may have notice my main art offerings revolve around: sculpting creatures, making accessories (masks), and crafting other nature themed objects. That being said my first love has always been drawing – I have been so privileged to be able to play around with a wide assortment of materials and design styles over the years. However, recently my art has all been digital. The iPad and Apple Pencil has been a real game changer, allowing me to sneak in drawing throughout the day in idle moments.

I was delighted to see just how many digital drawing and photography pieces I had ready to go for this show. The printed-on-canvas mushroom microphotography pieces rounded out by setup, held up by small table easels. This being a rare Indoor Event, wind was not a concern for the day. The ever popular sticker shelf also that made its return.

The what / when / where of it:

Winter can be beautiful, but it can also kinda suck. Let’s fight it with gorgeous inspirational art to hang in your home, office, or to gift to a friend. Come on out to Myriad Brewing in Downtown Evansville to view and purchase art from local artists! This event is sure to boost your spirts. We will have at least 18 local artists to shop, and colorful cocktails to sip on.

This was a first time event so we did not get a massive crowd, instead a steady trickle of curious patrons kept us on our toes for this 3 hour event. It was a refreshing pace that really allowed for networking and communication to happen between both artists and customers.

Doodling in a slow moment lead to the launch of a new sketch project – those little gestural cat pen doodles you see in the photoset below. Spring Yart 2024 is my next event, the goal is to have a box of these simple drawings based on observing cats at rest / in play. I think It will be a good exercise to get away from the computer and back to the basics of drawing from observation, we all need to revisit those little things that bring us joy… and what a better way than with cats and drawing?

Samples of some Newly printed digitally created art that premiered at the event can be seen the the following gallery. My goal is to get my old and new designs uploaded to pint on demand sites like RedBubble, TeePublic, and InPrint by the end of 2024. This will give my art a larger reach for those who can’t make it to in person events.

And last but not least: the McCurdy Building, which seems to be undergoing restorations, has a beautiful ceiling / skylight and lovely Corinthian inspired or Post Modern style columns.

Thank you for reading !

  1. This was indeed an AWESOME show and I especially loved seeing your new prints. All your stuff is great, but your 2D only show was a sight to behold! It definitely showcased all the awesome drawing you’ve been doing, I’m glad these babies finally got some of the love they deserved.
